Overview
The Notifications Drawer provides real-time updates about case activities, task assignments, and important events across Conduit. It is accessible from anywhere in the application via your user avatar, ensuring you never miss critical updates.

How To Use
Accessing the Notifications Drawer
Location: Top right corner of the screen, next to your user name
Steps:
- Locate your user avatar in the top right corner (to the right of your user name)
- To the right of your avatar, you'll see the Logout button (open door icon with arrow pointing right)
- Click on your avatar to open the Notifications Drawer
- The drawer slides out from the right side of the screen
- The rest of the screen dims to gray to focus attention on the drawer
To close the drawer:
- Click outside the drawer on the grayed-out screen area, OR
- Click your avatar again, OR
- Click the close icon (X) in the drawer
Global Availability: The notifications drawer is accessible from:
- Dashboard (all tabs)
- Case Pages
- Process Insights
- Locations
- Directory
- Any other page in Conduit
Understanding Notification Indicators
Bell Icons:
- Golden bell icon (🔔) - Unread notification requiring your attention
- Gray bell icon - Read notification you've already viewed
Visual Changes:
- When you read a notification, the bell icon changes from golden to gray
- Read notifications move to the bottom of the notification list
Notification Types
Notifications may include:
- Welcome - Onboarding and system welcome messages
- Task Started - Notification when a task has been initiated on a case
- Example: "Task 'Confirm Consumer Location' has been started on the case"
- Task Completed - Notification when a task is completed
- Task Assignments - When a task is assigned to you
- Case Updates - When cases you're involved with are modified
- Deadline Reminders - Upcoming or past due deadlines
- Team Activity - When team members take actions on shared cases
Notification Details:
Each notification displays:
- Bell icon (golden for unread, gray for read)
- Date notified - When the notification was created
- Description - Details about the event or action
Filtering Notifications
Filter Menu (Hamburger Icon):
Located at the top of the drawer, the hamburger menu (☰) shows the current filter status:
- "Unread & Read" - Shows all notifications that haven't been archived
- "Archived" - Shows only archived notifications
To change filters:
- Click the hamburger icon (☰)
- Select your desired filter option:
- View unread and read notifications together
- View archived notifications
Managing Notifications
Bulk Actions (Tray Icon)
Located to the right of the hamburger menu filter, the tray icon provides bulk management options:
Available actions:
- Mark all as read - Marks all visible notifications as read (changes all golden bells to gray)
- Archive all - Moves all visible notifications to the archived folder
To use bulk actions:
- Click the tray icon at the top of the drawer
- Select your desired action from the menu
Individual Notification Actions
To interact with a single notification:
- Hover over the notification you want to manage
- A 3-dot menu (⋮) appears in the top right corner of that notification
- Click the 3-dot menu to see available actions:
- Mark as read (if unread) - Changes bell icon from golden to gray and moves notification to bottom
- Mark as unread (if already read) - Changes bell icon back to golden
- Archive - Moves notification to archived folder
- Go to case - Opens the related Case Page directly
💡 Tip: Use "Go to case" to quickly navigate to the case mentioned in the notification without searching.
Reading Notifications
Marking as Read:
- Method 1: Hover over a notification and click the 3-dot menu → "Mark as read"
- Method 2: Use the bulk action "Mark all as read" from the tray icon
What happens when marked as read:
- Bell icon changes from golden (🔔) to gray
- Notification moves to the bottom of the list
- Notification remains accessible in "Unread & Read" filter view
Archiving Notifications
When to archive:
- Notifications you've addressed and no longer need to see
- Old notifications you want to clear from your active list
- Reference information you may want to access later
How to archive:
- Individual: Hover over notification → 3-dot menu → "Archive"
- Bulk: Tray icon → "Archive all"
Accessing archived notifications:
- Click the hamburger menu (☰)
- Select "Archived" filter
- View all previously archived notifications

Common Issues & Solutions
Can't Find a Notification
Problem: You saw a notification earlier but can't find it now.
Solution:
- Check if it was marked as read (look at the bottom of the notification list)
- Check the "Archived" filter if you or a bulk action archived it
- Scroll through your notification list—read notifications appear at the bottom
Too Many Notifications
Problem: Your notification drawer is cluttered with old notifications.
Solution:
- Use the tray icon → "Mark all as read" to clear unread indicators
- Review old notifications and use "Archive" to clean up your list
- Consider archiving notifications after addressing them
Notification Drawer Won't Open
Problem: Clicking your avatar doesn't open the drawer.
Solution:
- Try refreshing the page (F5 or Cmd/Ctrl + R)
